Immigrant Family Services
The IFS program offers specialized services designed for each member of the immigrant family, from children through seniors. These services include cultural orientations, housing assistance, financial literacy training, medical case management, mental health and wellness counseling, employment readiness training, job placements, career advancement services, and youth enrichment programs, such as after-school tutoring clubs and summer programs.
The Education program is primarily focused on English language acquisition, and it offers early childhood programs, adult English as a Second Language (ESL) classes (including classes specially designed for those who are preliterate in their native language), career readiness focused English classes, 1-on-1 tutoring, and even drivers’ permit classes.
Immigrant Legal Services
The ILS department is accredited by the U.S. Department of Justice to practice immigration law. This 12-person team of staff attorneys, accredited legal specialists, and paralegals provides legal consultation and direct representation to over 3,000 immigrants each year as they seek to obtain their work authorization, reunite with family members, gain protection from perpetrators of violent crimes, become citizens, and more.
